breaking news
In mid-July, various chat operatives set up websites with IP tracking enabled (this is no feat, it's a usual feature for websites). We then created pages on that site that were not available to the public in that they were not linked anywhere and that they were not available for webcrawling by Google (et al) spiders. Over the next week links were sent to support@poe-news.com complaining about various things (e.g. (and no plinko this is not a real example this is just because you're the best standin for a generic bitchbaby) fakeplinko@domain.com sends an email saying that chat has put up a page about him, go here to see it: www.domain.com/plinko.html). This is known a a honeypot. What it collected was, of course, the IP addresses of the mods who check the support@poe-news email address.

There is no chance anyone else saw that handful of emails. Using these IP addresses, we worked to confirm the likely identity of the mods based on geographical location as revealed in various forum posts (and, obviously, a user's history of working with the site/chet). These were cross checked and confirmed by emailing the mods individually under their real email addresses in ways we won't go into. Some guesses were made and we apologize to some of you who received weird ema ils, we had to be sure. Anyway, enough prelude...

WHAT DID HAPPEN???
Since I had to change hosts to be able to run Gallery2 for PoE Pics, I figured I might as well get with the times and fancy this shit up with some PHP and whatnot. I was sick of editing giant HTML tables whenever I wanted to update things. I mean, what is this? 1997? Ridiculous.

Anyway. The archive is easier to navigate now, you can search for a particular user, and there are ratings and commenting for each picture. Turnaround time from you submitting a picture to me getting the picture up on the site has been reduced from "whenever I get around to fucking with it (probably a couple weeks)" to "pretty much instantly." Uh, and it's shinier.

Speaking of submitting pictures: still the same process there. Email them to me @ this website.
